GP ACCESS
We operate a telephone triage system for GP appointments. This means that we will phone you back to discuss your problem with you and invite you for a face-to-face appointment if this is required.
Our receptionists will ask you some questions about your medical problem in order to pass this information on to the doctor.
We receive hundreds of calls a day to the practice - this means once we reach capacity for appointments, we can only accept urgent calls.
Many issues are able to be dealt with by our practice pharmacists or nurse, who are specialised in general practice - they may contact you directly.
The practice uses AccuRx, which means you may receive text messages requesting further information or for you to send in photos of your problem where appropriate - these are saved directly, and confidentially, to your medical record.
PRESCRIPTIONS
Repeat prescriptions can be ordered by phone or, preferably, online.
You can only re-order medicines that the GP has put on your repeat list.
Your local pharmacy is one of your best sources for medicines advice - they also run the PHARMACY FIRST scheme for a number of conditions, without the need to speak to your GP first.
Don't forget many medicines/treatments can be bought in the pharmacy without speaking to the GP first - just ask your local pharmacist for their advice.
We also have a number of specialist in-practice pharmacists who can deal with your medicines queries.
You can read more about repeat prescriptions and our medicine policies here.
